April 2009 - Update on our
trip to Russia
We plan to travel to Veliky Novgorod in Russia on the 24th
May returning on the 30th. A very busy week trying to fit
approximately 15 separate events (with possible distances
of 100 miles between one or two) into 6 days!
We very much hope to visit and perform small
or large concerts in three hospitals' children's departments,
a centre for the disabled, a club for the blind, the Ariensky
School of Music using one of the concert halls in Novgorod's
ancient Kremlin, with trips out of town to very poor villages
with extremely disadvantaged children and adults with problems
ranging from orphaned children, alcoholism, drug addiction,
and also we had just had request to visit a rehabilitation
centre for ex-convicts, drug addicts etc (100 miles from Novgorod)
where the inmates are sent for two years to work on the land,
plus we hope to perform two major free evening concerts for
the general public. As with all our concerts and visits we
will be seeking to tell people of the love of God through
the wonderful music He has given us.
We hope to be able to continue to give
funds to the three children's' hospitals; the Rodnichok centre
for the disabled; the Children's Ark church group who need
a vehicle to transport the aid to the poor villages; and to
street children in Novgorod. We also hope to visit and take
funds to the Hospital for Infectious Diseases (where we cannot
perform owing to the nature of the highly infectious illnesses)
and to any new needs that are brought to our attention eg
the rehabilitation centre that we have just been told about.
We highly value your prayer support for all of this as it
is not easy to plan such a trip and also to not be totally
exhausted performing sometime 3 concerts in a day!
Update on Veliky Novgorod
2008
A small group of F2F members are going to Novgorod from the

to visit the three hospitals that we have supported over the
past years since 1999, a centre for the blind, and the Rodnichok
Centre for the Disabled, in order to see how our Russian friends
are getting on, what their present specific needs are, and
how we can best be of help to them. more...
